We are adding a Data Operations Assistant to our team
We are adding a Data Operations Assistant to our team to help manage and organize the information that keeps our clients running. Specifically, you will be supporting a project for a client in London who is currently transitioning their business operations from a collection of spreadsheets into a custom-built database system. This is a permanent, full-time role that is conducted entirely through remote work, allowing you to contribute to meaningful projects from wherever you are located.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not focus on flashy consumer apps or marketing sites that look pretty but lack substance. Instead, we solve practical problems. We build admin panels, CRM integrations, and handle the database migrations that many other teams try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need their software tools to communicate or when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real, reliable database.
Our approach is straightforward and focused on results. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. We provide fixed quotes, perform weekly demos, and hand over everything: the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos. We use reliable technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy for our clients to maintain over the long term. We are a team that prefers solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest industry trends.
The Role
In this position, your main focus will be the integrity and movement of data. You will be working closely with our developers to ensure that information is correctly mapped, cleaned, and migrated between systems. Since we are helping a London-based client modernize their internal records, much of your day will involve looking at how data is currently stored and finding the best way to move it into new structures without losing important details.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is not a role about high-level strategy or abstract theory. It is about the practical work of data management. You will be identifying duplicates, fixing formatting errors, and verifying that the records in a new database match the source material. You will also help document these processes so the client understands how their new system works. Because we are a remote company, you will use digital tools to stay in sync with the rest of the team and provide updates on your progress.
What we are looking for
This is an entry-level position, so we do not expect you to have years of professional experience. We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of tidying up complex information. You should have a basic understanding of how databases work and be comfortable working with large sets of data in tools like Excel or Google Sheets. The ability to spot a small error in a large list of names or numbers is a vital skill here.
- A basic understanding of data structures and how different types of information relate to each other.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting and managing your own time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a preference for accuracy over speed.
- A willingness to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of consistency.
- Good communication skills, particularly when it comes to documenting your work or explaining a data issue to a colleague.
- Familiarity with logic and basic formulas for data manipulation.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work.

Helpful background
While not strictly required, there are a few things that might help you get up to speed faster. If you have ever played around with SQL or written a few lines of code to automate a task, that is a plus. Familiarity with GitHub or an interest in learning how APIs work will also be useful as you interact with our development team. We value curiosity and a willingness to learn our specific way of handling migrations and documentation.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here means being part of a small, flat organization. There are no layers of middle management to navigate. You will work directly with senior developers and designers who value your input and your work. We offer a competitive salary that is attractive for this level of role and the current market. We ship work that helps real people, such as warehouse managers or operations teams, do their jobs more effectively. Our culture is built on being helpful, staying calm when things get complicated, and getting the job done right the first time.
Because we are fully remote, we rely on clear, written communication and regular check-ins to stay connected. We do not have unnecessary meetings, and we respect each other's focus time. We are looking for someone who appreciates this no-drama environment and wants to grow their skills in a practical, technical setting.
