Data Platform Analytics Engineer – Contract
UK Remote | 6 Months + Extension | £500 - 525 per day
We are seeking two experienced Data Platform Analytics Engineers to support a major FinTech programme. Although the organisation is headquartered in London, the positions are 99% remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the UK with a valid right to work. Contract-to-permanent options may also be considered.
You will design, build and optimise scalable cloud-based data platforms using Google BigQuery, dbt and the wider Google Cloud ecosystem. Working across Product, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Risk and Engineering, you will develop robust data models, pipelines, warehouses and data marts that support commercial growth and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:
- 8–12 years’ data engineering experience
- Strong expertise in BigQuery, dbt Core or dbt Cloud, advanced SQL and query optimisation
- Python experience required

Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow and Cloud Composer/Airflow
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing and Agile delivery
- Banking or FinTech experience, particularly across payments, lending, savings, fraud, FinCrime/AML, regulatory reporting or Open Banking
- Exposure to Data Mesh, data products, governance, MLOps, streaming, metadata management and BI tools would be beneficial
