DATA PLATFORM ARCHITECT
£100,000 - £110,000
LONDON
This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognised digital and media organisation undergoing significant investment in its data platform and analytics capabilities. You'll play a key role in shaping data architecture across the business, influencing how data products are designed, governed and delivered while helping prepare the organisation for future AI initiatives.
THE COMPANY
Our client is one of the UK's most recognisable digital brands, reaching millions of users globally. With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration and long-term investment in technology, they are continuing to evolve their data platform to support analytics, commercial growth and AI-readiness. This role sits within a growing Data Platform function and offers the opportunity to influence data strategy at scale.
THE ROLE
- Define and evolve architectural standards across Data Platform and Analytics Engineering teams
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams to design scalable data solutions
- Drive best practices around data modelling, metadata, lineage, observability and data contracts
- Support AI-readiness initiatives by ensuring data assets are governed, scalable and accessible
- Review new data products and platform changes from an architectural perspective
- Establish frameworks and standards to improve consistency across multiple teams
- Work closely with engineering teams to influence delivery without being removed from implementation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and opportunities to enhance the data platform

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as a Data Architect, Data Platform Architect or similar role
- Strong background in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering or Data Platform environments
- Experience defining standards and best practices across multiple technical teams
- Strong understanding of data modelling and architecture principles
- Experience working with dbt in modern data environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
- Good understanding of CI/CD practices and engineering workflows
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience across AWS, Azure or GCP environments would be advantageous
