Data Platform Engineer
We're recruiting for a Data Platform Engineer to join a growing Enterprise Data Delivery team. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and enhancing data pipelines across a modern Azure-based data platform. You'll play a key role in helping the organisation develop trusted, scalable data foundations that support future innovation and business insight.

Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines that extract data from source systems into Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Move and prepare data within Databricks environments for downstream consumption.
- Investigate source systems to understand underlying data structures and business requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and solution architects to define extraction requirements.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and suggest improvements to data pipelines and processes.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing data pipelines.
- Develop new data ingestion solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and wider stakeholders across the data function.
Requirements
- Around 3-5 years' hands-on experience with Databricks. Strong candidates with approximately 2 years' Databricks experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience building data pipelines into data lake or lakehouse environments.
- Practical experience with Azure Data Factory.
- Experience working with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Ability to engage with business stakeholders, SMEs, and architects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
- Comfortable working independently within a remote-first environment.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within enterprise-scale data environments.
- Exposure to lakehouse architectures and modern data platform practices.
- Experience supporting both enhancement and greenfield data initiatives.
- Interest in helping organisations build strong data foundations for future analytical and AI capabilities.
