Data Platform Engineer
Newcastle | Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
Up to £84,000
We’re working with a major global organisation looking for a Data Platform Engineer to help support, improve and scale its enterprise data platform. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring a modern Azure-based data platform remains reliable, secure, observable and ready for production use. You’ll work across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and the wider Azure ecosystem, taking ownership of platform health, deployments, monitoring, incident resolution and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and associated Azure services
- Monitoring platform performance, availability, resilience and capacity
- Troubleshooting issues across cloud infrastructure, identity, networking, storage and security
- Supporting CI/CD, release management and production deployments
- Building and improving monitoring, alerting and observability
- Managing incidents and contributing to root cause analysis
- Improving automation, documentation, runbooks and operational processes
- Working closely with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure and wider technology teams

What we’re looking for
Ideally, you’ll have experience across:
- Microsoft Azure
- Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric
- Azure DevOps & Git
- CI/CD
- Terraform
- Python and/or PowerShell
- Monitoring and observability tooling
- Supporting cloud data platforms in production
- ITSM processes including incident, change and release management
