Data Platform Engineering Manager
Location: Bristol, Hybrid
Salary: £120,000 - £130,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Data sits at the heart of the organisation's future strategy, enabling business intelligence, analytics, AI, machine learning and data-driven decision making. As the Data Platform Engineering Manager, you'll lead an established team of data platform and DevOps engineers, driving the evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform and ensuring it continues to support both current and future business needs.
This is a strategic leadership position where you'll work closely with business and technology leaders to define platform strategy, shape roadmaps, influence investment decisions and drive platform adoption across the organisation. Rather than being heavily hands-on, you'll provide technical leadership, guide strategic direction and ensure the platform delivers measurable business value.

Data Platform Engineering Manager - Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing Data Platform team.
- Own platform roadmap planning, prioritisation and delivery.
- Shape long-term platform and technology strategy.
- Build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in data quality, governance and data management capabilities.
- Support platform modernisation and migration initiatives.
- Champion automation, simplification and AI-driven innovation.
- Treat the platform as a product, fostering ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure technology investments align with business objectives and outcomes.
We're interested in speaking with leaders who can combine technical credibility with strong stakeholder management and strategic thinking. Technical awareness is important, but this role is ultimately focused on leadership, strategy and platform ownership rather than deep hands-on engineering.

Technology Environment
Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:
- Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Snowflake
- dbt
- Dagster or Airflow
- APIs
- Infrastructure as Code / Terraform
