Data Platform Lead

AWS | Snowflake | dbt | Team Leadership

Location: Cardiff - Once a week onsite

Salary: £90,000 - £105,000 + bonus

Industry: SME Financial Services

We're partnering with a highly data-driven organisation that is investing heavily in its data platform, analytics capabilities, and AI future. As the business continues to grow, data is playing an increasingly critical role in driving decision-making, customer experience, and product innovation.

As Data Platform Lead, you'll take ownership of a modern cloud-based data platform while leading a team of Data Engineers. This is a genuine player-coach role, combining hands-on technical delivery with people leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence both the technical direction of the platform and the growth of the engineering team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development and evolution of a modern data platform built on AWS, Snowflake and dbt.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing a team of Data Engineers while setting engineering standards and best practice.
  • Designing and delivering scalable, high-quality data pipelines, reusable data models and trusted datasets that power analytics, reporting and future AI initiatives.
  • Owning the platform roadmap, balancing business demand, technical debt, resilience, scalability and future platform capability.
  • Working closely with stakeholders across Technology, Product, Analytics and the wider business to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
