Our client is embarking on a strategically important initiative to build and deploy a company-wide data platform and is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the successful delivery of this transformation programme.
This is a unique opportunity to join a major global organisation at the very beginning of a high-profile data platform transformation programme. With key vendors identified and implementation yet to commence, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the successful delivery of a business-critical initiative from inception through execution. You'll be working within a complex multi-supplier environment, coordinating multiple delivery streams and ensuring the programme is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Job Title: Data Platform Project Manager
Job Type: Initial 6 month contract
Location: Central London
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days on-site per week)
Day rate: Up to £1000 per day (outside IR35)
In the role as the Data Platform Project Manager, you will act as an independent and objective leader overseeing all aspects of delivery across multiple teams, consultancies and technology partners. This role is focused on programme execution rather than technical architecture, ensuring effective governance, stakeholder alignment, planning, financial management, and successful delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and curate programme backlogs, scope plans, and change control processes.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive RAID framework.
- Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning, and performance tracking across delivery teams.
- Facilitate decision-making across stakeholders, influencing outcomes without direct authority.
- Manage integrated project plans and schedules across multiple suppliers and workstreams.
- Review contractual commitments and ensure delivery aligns with agreed objectives and obligations.
- Maintain financial oversight, tracking forecasts, actual costs, variances, and programme reporting.
- Drive governance activities, steering committees, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage RASCI frameworks and ensure accountability across all delivery partners.
- Lead communication and change management activities, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and engaged throughout delivery.

What We're Looking For:
- Significant experience managing large-scale programmes involving multiple suppliers, consultancies, and delivery streams simultaneously.
- Strong project management expertise across planning, budgeting, governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and reporting.
- Experience delivering data platform, data management, or data product initiatives.
- A solid understanding of data concepts including data platforms, data lineage, data integrity, and data products.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and drive decisions in matrix organisations without relying on formal authority.
- Strong commercial awareness, including contract management, financial oversight, and supplier governance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bring teams together around a common objective.
