Job Title: Data Privacy Lawyer

Our customer, an AI technology company is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract role to provide legal advice across a broad range of privacy and data protection matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced technology environment and support the business as it develops and scales AI-driven products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
  • Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
  • Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
  • Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
  • Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.

  • UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Strong experience in data protection and privacy law, ideally gained in-house or within a leading technology-focused law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and wider EU data protection principles.
  • Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
  • Exposure to AI-related privacy, regulatory or data governance matters would be highly desirable.
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
