Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Data Privacy Manager to join our Data Privacy team and support the Data Protection Officer in overseeing privacy and data protection across AJ Bell.

This is a second line role, providing independent advice, challenge, assurance and oversight across the business. You’ll work closely with colleagues at all levels to help manage privacy risk, embed good data protection practices and ensure we continue to meet our regulatory obligations as the business evolves.

It’s a varied role that will give you exposure across AJ Bell, combining technical data protection expertise with stakeholder engagement, risk management and governance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing clear, practical data protection advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business.
  • Reviewing and advising on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new initiatives, products, systems and changes.
  • Supporting the management of personal data breaches, including investigation, risk assessment, reporting and remediation.
  • Reviewing and advising on data subject rights requests, helping to ensure they are handled effectively and within statutory timescales.
  • Producing monthly privacy MI, identifying trends and providing meaningful insight to support effective oversight and decision-making.
  • Supporting the preparation of the Annual Data Privacy Report and other governance and committee reporting.
  • Providing appropriate challenge and oversight of privacy risks, controls and compliance activities.
  • Supporting privacy training and awareness initiatives across the business.
  • Monitoring changes in data protection legislation, regulatory guidance and industry best practice, assessing what these mean for AJ Bell.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of AJ Bell’s privacy framework and approach.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
