Data Privacy Operations Analyst
We're looking for a Data Privacy Operations Analyst to join us at Waggel 🐾
It's a hands on role with the opportunity to make a real impact. You'll take ownership of key privacy operations, including DSARs, governance activities, supplier due diligence and AI governance administration, whilst helping us improve and scale the way privacy works across the business.
We're looking for someone who's organised, curious and proactive. Someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and becoming a trusted point of contact for operational privacy activities.

The Role
As our Data Privacy Operations Analyst, you'll help protect our customers' data and support the effective operation of Waggel's privacy framework. Working closely with the Head of Compliance & DPO, you'll take ownership of day to day privacy operations, ensuring key processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and with great customer outcomes in mind.
We're looking for someone who wants to do more than administer processes. You'll become the trusted point of contact for operational privacy activities across the business, supporting colleagues, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping us build a privacy function that scales as Waggel continues to grow.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving workflows and finding smarter ways of working within a fast growing, technology led business.

Your Responsibilities
- Own the administration of Data Subject Rights requests, including DSARs and Right to Erasure requests, ensuring they are processed accurately and within required timescales.
- Maintain Waggel's Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), working with teams across the business to ensure processing activities remain accurate and up to date.
- Support Privacy by Design activities, including coordinating Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), tracking actions and maintaining privacy governance documentation.
- Support supplier and third party privacy due diligence activities, including reviews of data sharing arrangements, maintaining records and escalating any risks.
- Maintain the approved AI use register and support the intake, triage and tracking of new AI use cases and business requests.
- Coordinate and manage customer requests for printed policy documentation through Waggel's third party fulfilment provider.
- Act as a first point of contact for privacy related queries, supporting colleagues and escalating matters where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to improve privacy processes, controls and ways of working, helping to build scalable and efficient processes as Waggel continues to grow.
- Support the Head of Compliance & DPO with privacy administration, governance activities and the delivery of Waggel's data protection framework.

What Success Looks Like
- You become the trusted point of contact for operational privacy activities across Waggel. Colleagues know where to go for support, relationships are strong and privacy obligations are managed efficiently and consistently.
- You take ownership of Waggel's daily privacy operations, ensuring requests are handled accurately and within required timescales, records remain complete and up to date, and actions are tracked through to completion.
- You understand how Waggel's privacy processes operate and use data, feedback and insight to identify what's working well, where improvements can be made and how processes can be made more efficient. You actively simplify, automate and improve the way we work, helping to create scalable privacy processes that support Waggel as it grows.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience working within data privacy, compliance, governance, or risk functions within a regulated environment
- Working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Experience handling Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, record keeping and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently in a fully remote environment.
- A proactive mindset focused on process improvement, problem solving and continuous learning.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different business functions.
Desirable
- Experience within insurance.
- Experience maintaining governance records, registers or compliance documentation.
- Experience supporting supplier due diligence, data sharing arrangements or third party risk assessments.
- Familiarity with AI governance, privacy technology or workflow automation tools.
- Experience coordinating Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Transfer Risk Assessments (TRAs) or similar privacy risk assessments.
- Relevant privacy qualifications (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, BCS Data Protection) or working towards.
