Data Process & Automation Engineer

London | Hybrid | Permanent | Up to £60,000 + Package

I’m working with a leading transformation consultancy to find a Data Process & Automation Engineer to join their Technology & Data team, helping clients improve processes through automation, AI and modern workflow technologies.

The Role

You’ll help organisations identify where inefficient processes can be improved and then turn those opportunities into practical technology solutions.

The role combines process analysis, automation and AI, with a particular focus on finding the right balance between traditional automation and newer AI-enabled approaches.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Assessing business processes and identifying opportunities for automation
  • Designing improved workflows that consider efficiency, user experience and risk
  • Developing automated solutions using RPA, low-code and AI-enabled technologies
  • Working with platforms such as UiPath and Celonis
  • Exploring practical applications for Agentic AI
  • Designing appropriate human oversight, controls and escalation routes
  • Supporting testing, implementation and transition into live environments
  • Defining KPIs and measuring the benefits delivered through automation
  • Helping establish appropriate governance around AI, including monitoring, auditability and compliance
  • Working directly with business and technology stakeholders

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years' experience in a client-facing or consulting environment
  • Strong understanding of process improvement and automation
  • Experience with automation tooling such as UiPath, Celonis, Power Automate or similar
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI or equivalent technologies
  • Understanding of APIs, integrations and workflow orchestration
  • Ability to connect process, data and AI to solve business problems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of how to demonstrate business value
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or a related discipline is desirable
