Ready to lead a strategic data transformation across regulated risk and finance reporting?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

Default and Forbearance data underpins retail credit models, capital measures and financial reporting across Risk and Finance, and is subject to increasing scrutiny of data quality, controls and evidence of compliance. It is currently supported by a tactical, manual and labour-intensive solution that creates operational risk and limits long-term sustainability.

This role sits within the Chief Data and Analytics Office team, supporting International Wealth and Premier Banking, and partners closely with Risk, Finance and Technology. You’ll be accountable for the end-to-end programme to deliver a strategic, controlled and scalable data solution, bringing multiple workstreams into a single governed plan spanning process, data, technology, controls, policy alignment and migration cutover. Success will mean stronger controls, improved data quality, fewer manual interventions and clear, audit-ready evidence of decisions and delivery outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the strategic Default and Forbearance Data programme across process, data, technology, controls, policy alignment and migration cutover
  • Establish and own an integrated delivery plan with clear milestones, critical-path dependencies and cross-functional commitments
  • Steer delivery across global and regional stakeholders, aligning outcomes with regulatory and reporting timelines and ensuring measurable evidence of progress
  • Establish robust programme governance with clear decision rights, escalation routes and disciplined tracking of actions and outcomes
  • Provide executive-level reporting, including dashboards, milestone and dependency tracking, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, and change control
  • Embed rigorous delivery controls, including documentation standards, evidence retention, testing, sign-off and cutover readiness
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts and resource planning across internal teams and suppliers, where applicable
  • Ensure the target-state solution is operationalised, fully documented and successfully transitioned into ongoing support after go-live

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
