6-12 month Fixed Term Contract role with a Consultancy (Banking Client) in Sheffield (or Leeds)

Summary

The consultancy is seeking an accomplished Data Programme Manager to lead complex, multi-stream enterprise data platform transformation initiatives within a global banking client's UK technology hub.

This role requires a candidate who combines consultancy-grade delivery rigour with a proven track record of managing £10M+ enterprise data, cloud, or Data Fabric/Mesh transformations in global banking or financial services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Programme Execution: Own end-to-end delivery of high-value data transformation programmes, coordinating cross-functional pods (data engineering, BI, architecture, and business change).
  • Data Fabric & Platform Delivery: Drive the execution and rollout of modern data platforms (Data Fabric, Data Mesh, Cloud Data Warehouses/Lakes, API integration frameworks) to unlock data value across complex legacy and cloud architectures.
  • Executive Governance & Steering: Lead programme governance, manage C-suite/executive stakeholders across Business and IT, secure funding lines, and manage dependencies in a heavily matrixed organisation.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Exercise strong commercial control over multi-million-pound budgets, capacity planning, resource allocation, and third-party delivery partners.
  • Risk & Regulatory Controls: Ensure robust data governance, lineage, quality controls, and compliance frameworks across all programme deliverables.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
