The Data Protection Analyst will provide support and guidance on all BAU data protection matters and will also make a critical contribution in the data protection area to key business transformation projects. They will ensure local data protection champions are equipped, knowledgeable and able to effectively manage the data protection requirements in their business area in line with regulatory requirements and the BAU checklist for GDPR compliance within the company. They will help the data protection champions to identify areas of risk and make recommendations for enhancements in the face of developing legislation.
The Data Protection Analyst will also play a key role in raising business awareness of data protection issues and best practice and assist in the risk assessment of suppliers processing personal data.
Whilst this is a stand-alone, specialist role in the TwO business they will have the support and backing of the ABF Data Protection Legal Team. The Legal Team provides guidance, templates and the BAU checklist for GDPR compliance together with specialist advice in all areas of data protection.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing a first point of contact for all data protection issues across TwO
- Providing data protection subject matter expertise, to ensure the organisation is compliant with data protection legislation;
- Conducting regular reviews of compliance with all business units and functions and agreeing action plans for ongoing compliance;
- Ensuring any changes to data protection legislation are understood and incorporated within our approach;
- Reviewing data protection requirements of key business projects and ensuring the appropriate steps are taken to incorporate data protection requirements, including data protection impact assessments and ‘privacy by design and default’ as applicable;
- Assisting in the risk assessment of new suppliers who will be processing personal data on behalf of the business;
- Working with local data protection champions to ensure data protection notices, records of processing, DPIAs and all other documentation and guidance is kept up to date;
- Keeping a record of data protection training across the business and ensuring that relevant role holders attend the requisite training courses;
- Participate in the investigation of data protection incidents with business units and assisting in identifying data protection breaches, taking advice from the DP Legal Team
- Identifying remedial actions as applicable and monitor successful implementation;
- Assisting with the preparation of reports on data protection compliance.
As part of the compliance team you will be expected to provide additional support and backup for other non-data protection tasks (such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption)

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- An understanding of GDPR, PECR and the UK Data Protection Act and will hold, or be working towards, a relevant certification in support of this (CIPP/E,CIPM, BCS Practitioners Certificate);
- A passion for data protection and experience of working in data protection, data management, audit, risk management, information security or other related areas;
- Experience of engaging with business stakeholders to understand and document business processes, data flows, controls and business needs;
- The ability to consider the risks to the business and pragmatically agree an appropriate way forward;
- Experience of assessing compliance with business controls and procedures;
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with the business to become a trusted advisor;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail;
- Effective time management, prioritisation skills, ability to manage multiple workstreams;
- An enjoyment of working in an international, complex and fast-paced environment;
- Comfortable with balancing competing, often tight, deadlines;
