Job Description
As a Data Protection Coordinator, you will respond to data subject access requests & protect the business from data protection risk.
Your Role as Data Protection Coordinator
- Ensuring that data subject’s rights-related requests are dealt with correctly and in a timely fashion
- Corresponding with data subjects by telephone and email to acknowledge and respond to their data protection rights requests
- Managing requests for disclosure of personal data from third parties (police, insurers, licensing authorities, third party employers)
- Liaising with support centre to retrieve personal data and pub team leaders, IT and property support teams to retrieve CCTV recordings
- Preparing personal data for sharing with data subjects and third parties which involves the use of document redaction and video editing software
- Ensuring requests are processed quickly, efficiently and on time (as required by law), escalating complex cases to the DPO for assistance
- Keeping accurate records of the progress and outcome of each request
- Keeping records to evidence compliance with various of the statutory record keeping requirements set out in the UK GDPR e.g. records of processing activities (RoPA), records relating to data subject rights-related requests, records relating to data incidents and personal data breaches

What You’ll Bring…
- Self-sufficiency, diplomacy, good planning skills, ability to prioritise own workload, ability to spot and assess risks, high level of personal integrity, persuasive, influential
- Prior experience: No prior experience required but a genuine interest in data protection law
- Relevant Qualifications: Not required but the following might be useful data protection law degree; IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP
- Other relevant skills/experience: producing formal reports, applying a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.
