Please note: this vacancy is a 12 month fixed term contract

At Lloyds Clinical, protecting the confidentiality, integrity and security of patient and colleague data is at the heart of what we do. We're looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer to join our Quality & Governance team on a 12-month fixed term contract, providing expert leadership and oversight across all aspects of information governance, data protection and GDPR compliance.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of Lloyds Clinical's data protection and information governance framework, ensuring we continue to meet our obligations under GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Caldicott Principles. Acting as the organisation's subject matter expert, you'll provide practical guidance across the business, helping to minimise risk while embedding a strong culture of data protection and compliance.

This is a varied and visible role where you'll lead on policy development, audits, risk assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), whilst overseeing data subject requests, breach management and regulatory reporting. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, including IT, Patient Services and senior leaders, to ensure robust controls are in place and that data protection remains a key consideration in business decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
