Job Title: Data Science Consultant – Insurance Domain

Location: London, UK

Employment Type: Permanent

Working Model: Hybrid – 3 days in office

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Science Consultant with strong insurance sector knowledge to bridge business needs and technical delivery. The role combines stakeholder consulting with hands-on development of data, AI, and machine learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to identify challenges, opportunities, and high-value analytics use cases.
  • Lead discovery sessions, workshops and requirements discussions.
  • Convert business needs into practical AI, ML and data science solutions.
  • Present recommendations, prototypes and outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Work across areas such as underwriting, claims, pricing, risk and customer operations.
  • Develop predictive models, ML solutions, GenAI applications and proof-of-concepts.
  • Perform data analysis, feature engineering, model validation and optimisation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to take solutions into production.
  • Support MLOps, monitoring, governance and responsible AI practices.

Essential Experience

  • 10+ years in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning or Advanced Analytics.
  • Proven experience within the insurance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes such as claims, underwriting, pricing, risk, or policy administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in business-facing consulting and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to senior non-technical audiences.

Technical Skills

  • Python, SQL, and data science technologies.
  • Machine Learning and predictive modelling.
  • Generative AI, LLMs, RAG and Agentic AI.
  • Experience with Azure AI / OpenAI, Azure ML, Databricks or comparable platforms.
  • Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
  • MLOps and model lifecycle management.
  • Awareness of AI governance, security, and Responsible AI.
