Your new role
We're looking for an ambitious and highly analytical Data Science Engineer to join our growing Analytics team based full-time at our Eastleigh office. This is an exciting opportunity to work with large-scale sensor datasets, develop innovative machine learning and condition monitoring solutions, and help deliver industry-leading analytics capabilities to customers worldwide.
This role would suit someone with a strong academic background, ideally educated to Master's or PhD level in a STEM discipline, who has already gained some commercial experience applying data science, machine learning, or analytics techniques in a professional environment.
You'll be a naturally curious problem solver, someone who enjoys turning complex data into actionable insights and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment where innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Analyse complex sensor and operational datasets to identify trends, patterns and valuable customer insights.
- Design, develop and refine condition monitoring and machine learning algorithms.
- Develop software and analytical tools to support business and customer requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering and analytics teams on new capability development.
- Produce clear technical reports, presentations and visualisations for both internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical approaches, tools and processes.
- Support production analytics systems and help investigate performance issues and technical challenges.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
