About the Opportunity
We are looking for a curious and analytical individual to join one of our client organisations in the United Kingdom as a Data Science Intern. This opportunity is suitable for students, recent graduates, and aspiring data professionals who want to gain practical exposure to data science, machine learning, statistical analysis, and artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate will contribute to data-focused projects and work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative remote environment. The role provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to practical analytical challenges while developing technical and problem-solving capabilities.
Role Overview
The Data Science Intern will support activities throughout the data science lifecycle, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, statistical modelling, visualisation, machine learning, and interpretation of results.
The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of Python, SQL, statistics, and machine learning, combined with an interest in applying data to solve practical business and technical problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, organise, clean, and prepare datasets for analysis and modelling.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, relationships, patterns, and anomalies.
- Apply statistical methods to evaluate datasets and support project objectives.
- Assist with developing, training, testing, and evaluating machine learning models.
- Support feature engineering, data preprocessing, and model preparation activities.
- Analyse model outputs and performance using appropriate evaluation techniques.
- Use SQL to retrieve, combine, filter, and analyse information from databases.
- Develop charts, visualisations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings.
- Translate analytical results into clear and practical insights.
- Assist with predictive analytics and data-driven solution development.
- Maintain documentation covering datasets, methodologies, experiments, models, and results.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Research developments in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics.

Required Qualifications
- Currently studying towards or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Data Science
- Computer Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Engineering
- Information Technology
- or a related quantitative discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of Python programming.
- Understanding of statistics, probability, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with fundamental machine learning concepts.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploratory analysis.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within a remote environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning new data technologies and methodologies.
Technical Skills
Candidates may have academic or practical exposure to:

- Experience developing analytical dashboards or reports.
- Exposure to predictive analytics or artificial intelligence.
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based data platforms.
- Interest in automation, Generative AI, or emerging data technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to independently research and learn technical concepts.
