Meet the team 👥
Here at Cleo, we have ~70 Data Scientists (Product Analysts) working embedded into our Pillars ✨ They stay connected and share knowledge consistently through monthly meetings and slack channels to scale approaches and ensure everyone learns in the same way. They thrive through clear communication with their squad and stakeholders to influence product or company decisions, being that bridge between the non-tech and technical sides of the team. We have deeply structured data and a great experimentation culture using StatSig for all analysts to dive into!
About The Role ✍️
We're hiring a Data Science Manager, Strategic Finance Analytics to lead one of the most cross-functional and high-leverage analytics functions at Cleo. You'll manage the Strategic Finance sub-team - 5 data scientists embedded across FP&A, Core Finance, Capital Markets, and Operations - reporting into the Director of Commercial Analytics. This is a people management role as much as a technical one: roughly 70% people leadership, 30% hands-on, split across the highest-leverage analyses, exec presentations, and the analytical roadmap.
- Lead the Strategic Finance Analytics team, owning growth, performance, and hiring for the 5 data scientists across FP&A, Core Finance, Capital Markets, and Operations
- Set and prioritise the analytical roadmap across all four domains, directing the team's time to the work that moves the business most
- Act as the senior analytical partner to Heads of department, shaping decisions at exec level rather than just delivering numbers
- Stay hands-on on high-stakes or sensitive analysis, or decisions that need to move fast
- Own the quality bar - metric definitions, documentation, peer review, and trust in the numbers across internal and external reporting
- Raise the craft of the team through feedback, pairing, and playbooks so output scales beyond what 5 people can deliver directly
- Partner with Analytics and Data Engineering on the data foundations the team relies on
- Run team rituals and represent the team in cross-functional forums

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
