About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced quantitative developer to join our Treasury Markets Data Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and operating the production infrastructure that powers our foreign exchange (FX) pricing, risk management, and trading systems. Your work will involve developing and maintaining robust Python microservices that support real-time data processing, pricing models, and risk calculations. You will have the opportunity to expand your scope into traditional quantitative finance areas, including curve construction, pricing of new financial instruments, and trading strategy development. Your contributions will directly impact Wise’s mission by enhancing our system reliability, improving pricing accuracy, and enabling smarter decision-making across our financial operations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including product managers, traders, analysts, and engineers—will be a key aspect of your role, as you translate complex quantitative insights into practical, customer-facing solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
