About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our dynamic Workday Products division. In this strategic role, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced AI and machine learning solutions that enhance our suite of Workday products, including Kainos Smart, Employee Document Management, and Pay Transparency Analyzer. Your expertise will drive innovations such as predictive analytics for workforce planning, anomaly detection in financial processes, and intelligent automation within Workday applications. You will lead technical design, oversee delivery, and mentor a team of data scientists, ensuring the development of scalable, reliable, and impactful AI solutions. This role requires a blend of technical excellence, leadership capabilities, and strong stakeholder engagement to deliver value-driven outcomes for our clients and organization.

Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience or a relevant PhD with 4-5 years of industry experience
  • Proficiency in Python programming, with a focus on scalable, maintainable code
  • Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Proven track record in designing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade AI/ML solutions, including pipelines and MLOps practices
  • Expertise in large language models (e.g., GPT, Transformers) for generative AI use cases
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong data engineering skills, including data wrangling, pipeline creation, and integration
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their AI tools
  • Ability to develop interactive dashboards and visual analytics using tools like Streamlit, Plotly, or Dash
  • Proven leadership skills in managing, mentoring, and developing data science teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in client engagement and translating business needs into technical solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions to enhance Workday products
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Implement scalable AI/ML pipelines, including MLOps practices such as CI/CD, model versioning, and monitoring
  • Leverage generative AI and large language models for use cases like conversational AI, document summarization, and content creation
  • Design and optimize cloud-based AI solutions using platforms like AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI
  • Develop data pipelines, perform data cleansing, and ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights effectively
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored AI solutions that meet business objectives
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to thought leadership through knowledge sharing activities
