About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our team and lead high-impact, client-relevant Data Science initiatives within our Media pillar. This strategic role is ideal for concept-driven professionals who excel at influencing organizational direction, clarifying complex ideas, and shaping how Data Science creates value at scale. The successful candidate will work across media measurement, audience activation, and performance, focusing on conceptual innovation, strategic alignment, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a pivotal role in defining the future of our Data Science offerings, ensuring initiatives are well-framed, feasible, and aligned with client needs and business objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence across teams, contribute to growth initiatives, and mentor emerging talent in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in Data Science, analytics, or AI within a media or technology-focused organization
  • Proven expertise in conceptualizing and leading high-impact Data Science projects
  • Strong understanding of media measurement, audience activation, and performance analytics
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to translate complex ideas into clear concepts and narratives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring and guiding other Data Scientists and technical teams
  • Familiarity with data governance, ethical considerations, and best practices in Data Science
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Shape and contribute to the strategic alignment and prioritization of cross-cutting Data Science topics across the Media unit
  • Define clear concepts and target architectures for high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with client needs and business goals
  • Identify conceptual risks and assumptions early in project development to mitigate potential issues
  • Ensure scientific rigor, feasibility, and client relevance in all Data Science initiatives
  • Participate in Data Science Board discussions to support decision-making on project delivery, spikes, and prioritization
  • Support clear steering decisions and provide guidance on project readiness and scope
  • Contribute to client pitches, tenders, and growth initiatives to demonstrate Data Science value and capabilities
  • Support market expansion by developing scalable concepts compatible across different markets and media contexts
  • Create compelling Data Science narratives and 'Why this matters' framing to communicate value to stakeholders
  • Develop whitepapers, frameworks, and guidance materials for delivery teams to facilitate implementation
  • Act as a trusted advisor on solution readiness, conceptual integrity, and prioritization of Data Science initiatives
  • Mentor and guide other Data Scientists, fostering professional growth and conceptual excellence within the team
  • Provide senior technical and methodological guidance, acting as a role model for high-quality Data Science thinking and stakeholder engagement
