About The Role

We are supporting a prominent global consulting firm in their search for an experienced Data Scientist to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, client-facing environment where your analytical expertise will directly influence strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be based in offices located in London, Birmingham, or Bristol, and will play a critical role in developing advanced machine learning models and data analysis solutions to address complex business challenges. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable strategies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data science and analytics, with proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling, and automation, along with a solid understanding of SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets. Practical experience in applying various machine learning techniques and algorithms is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred, alongside relevant certifications or professional development in data analytics and machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement machine learning models to solve complex business problems, enhancing decision-making processes through predictive analytics.
  • Analyze and interpret large, diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure high-quality inputs for analysis and modelling.
  • Evaluate, optimize, and monitor machine learning models to maintain accuracy, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to communicate findings clearly and deliver data science solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and model performance metrics to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning to continuously improve methodologies and tools used within the organization.
