A young, innovative business with a vision. We are developing clinical decision-making tools to aid the early detection of cancer.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Scientist to join our small software team and accelerate the development of our exciting cancer detection technology.
Job summary
You will have the opportunity to:

Your role will be to:
- Develop machine learning models to predict cancer risk
- Develop spectral signal processing and data quality analytics
- Contribute to the direction of our data science team
- Help to advance our technology towards adoption, from development to deployment
- Work within a regulated environment to develop software as a medical device

Person specification
Essential criteria:
- At least 2 years applied data science in industry
- Excellent data analytic and statistical skills
- Can select between different analysis methods and justify decisions
- Can clearly communicate methods and findings to colleagues and stakeholders
- Proficient with Python and relevant libraries and frameworks
- Can version control software changes using Git
- Must currently have full right to work in the UK (we are not licensed to sponsor visas)
Set yourself apart, with experience:
- Developing clinical decision-making tools
- Using good software engineering practices, e.g. test-driven development
- Developing and deploying on cloud platforms (we use GCP)
- Developing software as a medical device or other regulated software
- Using Jira as a project management tool and applying Agile practices
- Working with spectroscopy data or similar

Job details
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per year, depending on experience
Hybrid working: A flexible working policy including working remotely part of the time
Location: Swansea, South Wales
