About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join a well-established retail organization that is dedicated to leveraging data to improve customer experience and drive commercial growth. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where data-driven decision-making is at the core of the business strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing advanced predictive models
- Analyzing large datasets
- Translating complex analytical insights into actionable business recommendations
This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

- Advanced proficiency in Python for statistical analysis, machine learning, and data manipulation
- Robust SQL capabilities and experience working with large-scale datasets
- Prior experience building predictive models, customer segmentation, propensity scoring, forecasting, and recommendation systems
Highly desirable skills and qualifications:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models to support customer engagement, marketing strategies, and commercial initiatives.
- Analyze extensive customer and transactional datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that can influence business decisions.
- Build and refine segmentation, propensity, forecasting, and recommendation models to enhance personalization and targeting efforts.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across marketing, operations, and commercial teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Communicate complex analytical results clearly and persuasively to both technical teams and executive leadership, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science methodologies, tools, and best practices within the organization.
- Monitor and evaluate model performance over time, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and operational efficiency.
