Data Scientist
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)
Salary: up to £75,000 plus excellent benefits package

Our client is a globally recognised producer of premium luxury products, proudly headquartered in Scotland and enjoyed by consumers across the world. As they continue to invest in digital transformation and data-driven decision making, they are looking to appoint a talented Data Scientist to establish and lead a newly created consumer data capability.
This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation with an exceptional global reputation and play a pivotal role in how customer, marketing and commercial data is used to drive growth, personalisation and strategic decision making.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional reporting or BI role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for uncovering opportunities hidden within large and complex consumer datasets, developing advanced analytical models, and translating insights into meaningful commercial outcomes.
You'll work across Digital Technology, Marketing, CRM, Consumer Insights and Commercial teams, helping the business better understand customer behaviour, optimise marketing investment and create increasingly personalised consumer experiences.

This role offers the chance to build a capability from the ground up, meaning you'll have the autonomy and influence to shape methodologies, define best practice and champion a data-driven culture across the organisation.
What You'll Be Working On
Key areas of focus will include:
- Developing machine learning and predictive analytics models to identify trends, behaviours and commercial opportunities.
- Creating customer segmentation, propensity and recommendation models.
- Building and deploying production-ready data science solutions.
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer acquisition, retention and lifetime value.
- Enhancing personalisation across digital and CRM channels.
- Measuring and forecasting the effectiveness and ROI of marketing and event activity.
- Working with stakeholders to define new data collection strategies and unlock untapped insight.
- Using customer data to influence commercial decisions, investment priorities and strategic planning.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with experienced Data Scientists who combine strong technical capability with commercial awareness and stakeholder influence.

You'll likely bring:
- Strong experience within Data Science, Advanced Analytics or Machine Learning roles.
- Excellent Python and SQL skills.
- Experience developing, validating and deploying machine learning models.
- A strong understanding of statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques.
- Experience working with customer, marketing, consumer or behavioural datasets.
- The ability to translate complex analysis into practical business recommendations.
- Experience engaging and influencing non-technical stakeholders.
Who Will Succeed?
This role will suit someone who enjoys solving ambiguous business problems and can confidently identify opportunities rather than waiting to be told where they exist.
You're naturally curious, commercially minded and comfortable operating as a subject matter expert. You understand that the true value of data science lies not in creating dashboards, but in generating insight, predicting outcomes and influencing business decisions.
