Data Scientist
Remote (UK) | Leicestershire 1-2 Days Per Month | Permanent
We're partnering with an innovative AI-driven technology business that is transforming how organisations use data to make better decisions.
Following continued growth, they're looking to hire a Data Scientist to help develop predictive models, uncover meaningful insights from complex datasets, and contribute to the next generation of AI-powered products.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level Data Scientist who wants to work on real-world machine learning challenges, gain exposure to large-scale datasets, and play a visible role within a fast-growing technology company. The environment offers significant ownership, collaboration with experienced technical leaders, and the opportunity to see your work directly influence product development and customer outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and improving machine learning and predictive analytics solutions
- Preparing, cleaning and transforming datasets from multiple sources
- Building and evaluating classification, regression and forecasting models
- Working closely with engineering, product and business stakeholders to solve complex challenges using data
- Communicating insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contributing to the development of AI-driven products and analytics capabilities
- Supporting the creation of scalable data science workflows and best practices

What We're Looking For
- Commercial, academic or research experience working with data science, analytics or machine learning
- Strong Python skills, including experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy and Scikit-Learn
- Understanding of machine learning concepts including classification, regression and model evaluation
- Experience preparing and analysing large datasets
- SQL skills and confidence querying data
- Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to learn and develop

Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks
- Exposure to XGBoost or similar machine learning frameworks
- Experience building dashboards or data visualisations
- Knowledge of responsible AI, model fairness or AI governance
- Experience working with public sector, education or social impact datasets
- Exposure to time-series modelling or forecasting techniques
