The Company

Abtrace is solving one of the most complex and impactful challenges in healthcare: enabling primary care to deliver proactive, preventative care at scale.

Our team of doctors, researchers, software engineers, and data scientists combines clinical expertise, advanced software engineering, and AI to build clinical algorithms that help primary care clinicians identify risks earlier and intervene sooner.

We are building digital health technology that delivers personalized Population Health interventions at scale. Our platform continuously analyzes patients' health records to identify early signals of deterioration, emerging disease, and opportunities for preventative care—helping clinicians act before problems become more serious.

Today, our technology is deployed across more than 600 primary care practices, supporting care for 7.5 million patients.

The Role

We're looking for a Data Scientist (Mid/Senior) to join our team. The core duty of the position will be the analysis of longitudinal healthcare datasets and development of predictive models from those datasets. The ideal candidate should have strong Python and SQL skills and be proficient in data science libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and XGBoost, as well as transformer-based NLP techniques.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
