About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our Workday Products division. In this strategic role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing advanced AI and machine learning solutions that enhance our suite of Workday offerings, including Kainos Smart (Smart Test, Smart Audit, Smart Shield), Employee Document Management, and Pay Transparency Analyzer. Your expertise will drive innovation in predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and intelligent automation, improving the scalability, functionality, and efficiency of our products. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, mentor a team of data scientists, and provide thought leadership across the organization. This role also involves line management responsibilities, including team development, performance appraisals, and career progression planning. As a key member of our team, you will help shape the future of AI-driven enterprise solutions and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact projects.

Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience or a relevant PhD with 4-5 years of industry experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with a focus on scalable, maintainable code
  • Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Proven expertise in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing production-grade AI/ML solutions
  • Experience with MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and leveraging cloud-native AI tools
  • Strong data engineering skills, including data wrangling, pipeline creation, and database management
  • Experience designing and implementing generative AI solutions using large language models
  • Ability to create interactive dashboards and visual analytics using tools like Streamlit, Plotly, or Dash
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring data science teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of client engagement

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions for Workday products
  • Drive innovation by exploring new AI techniques, including predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and generative AI
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Mentor and develop data science team members, supporting their career growth and skill development
  • Establish best practices for AI/ML development, including pipelines, MLOps, and integration with enterprise systems
  • Ensure the scalability, robustness, and security of AI solutions deployed in production environments
  • Stay updated on emerging AI trends and incorporate relevant advancements into projects
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, workshops, and external thought leadership activities
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications effectively
