Data Scientist
London (1 day per week in the office)
Up to £80,000
I'm supporting one of the UK's largest transport and infrastructure organisations as they continue to invest heavily in their Data & AI capability.
This is an opportunity to join a newly established Data Science function where you'll help shape the first production Machine Learning capability across the business. You'll be working with large-scale operational datasets, influencing business decisions that impact millions of customer journeys each year, and helping define best practice from the ground up.

The Role
This is not a research-focused Data Scientist position. The focus is on delivering predictive insight that drives real-world operational and commercial outcomes.
You'll:
- Build and deploy ML models into production
- Turn complex data into actionable insight
- Partner with stakeholders to solve business challenges
- Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
What I'm Looking For
Communication is every bit as important as technical capability in this role. They're looking for someone who can influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions and translate complex analysis into clear business decisions.

You'll likely have:
- Commercial Data Science experience
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience deploying ML models into production
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts simply
- Azure, Fabric, Databricks or similar cloud platform experience
