About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially minded Data Science Lead to join our Data Products Leadership Team. This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence the future of Data Science within IAG Loyalty by leading a talented team of Data Scientists. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced Machine Learning solutions that directly contribute to business growth, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. Balancing technical expertise with strategic insight, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Product Owners, Engineers, Analysts, and business leaders—to identify high-impact opportunities, translate complex challenges into actionable data solutions, and ensure the delivery of measurable commercial outcomes. This role is crucial in shaping our data-driven approach, fostering innovation, and maintaining our competitive edge in the loyalty and travel industries.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in delivering data science solutions that generate measurable business value
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for developing and deploying Machine Learning models
- Experience with customer, marketing, or commercial data science use cases such as recommendation systems, pricing, propensity modeling, or uplift modeling
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, or mentor data science teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with cloud-based Machine Learning platforms, MLOps, LLMs, or AI technologies is advantageous
- Strong business acumen with a focus on commercial outcomes and strategic prioritization
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and translate business challenges into high-value data opportunities
- Experience in developing and maintaining production-ready models in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Data Scientists, setting technical standards and fostering continuous learning and development
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable Machine Learning solutions that address key business challenges
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Analysts, and stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Customer, Finance, and Digital teams to identify high-impact opportunities
- Translate complex business questions into well-defined Data Science use cases with clear success metrics
- Prioritize a backlog of Data Science initiatives based on commercial value, customer impact, and technical feasibility
- Champion experimentation, responsible AI practices, and continuous improvement within the Data Science community
- Contribute to shaping the Data Science roadmap and influence the strategic direction of Data Products
- Ensure the delivery of solutions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes, such as increased revenue, engagement, or operational efficiency
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and foster a culture of innovation and high performance
