About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in London. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex business challenges into analytical solutions by leveraging large datasets and advanced data analysis techniques. You will develop tools and models that enhance transparency and accessibility of data, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions. As part of the Markets Capital Advancement team within Counterparty Trading & Risk, you will play a pivotal role in driving capital initiatives, analyzing data to identify optimization opportunities, and supporting strategic projects. The position offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work with onsite collaboration, and provides an excellent platform for professional growth within a leading financial institution.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a numerate or quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields
- 5-8+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably within Financial Markets
- Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with additional programming languages is advantageous
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Experience analyzing large and complex datasets to derive actionable insights
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Proven track record of resolving complex data issues and improving data quality
- Experience mentoring junior team members and leading technical initiatives
Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven insights and analysis to support decision-making across product desks and business units
- Conduct strategic and complex data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations
- Analyze data across multiple platforms and sources to enhance data quality and identify optimization opportunities
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to assess system and process issues, recommending effective solutions
- Act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and challenges
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management, influencing skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Mentor and lead junior quantitative professionals, conducting code reviews and guiding analytical methodologies
- Support the development and maintenance of analytical tools, models, and dashboards to improve data accessibility and transparency
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance analytical capabilities
