Data Scientist

London | Outside IR35

The Company

They are a well-established retail business with a strong focus on leveraging data to enhance customer experience and commercial outcomes. The organisation is investing heavily in its analytics and data science capabilities to drive smarter decision-making across multiple business functions. You will join a collaborative environment where data plays a central role in shaping strategy and operational performance.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Develop and deploy predictive models to support customer, marketing, and commercial initiatives.
  • Analyse large customer and transactional datasets to identify actionable business insights.
  • Build segmentation, propensity, forecasting, and recommendation models.
  • Partner with stakeholders across marketing, operations, and commercial teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of data science best practices and model performance monitoring.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience applying data science techniques within a commercial environment.
  • Advanced Python skills for statistical analysis, machine learning, and data manipulation.
  • Strong SQL capabilities and experience working with large-scale datasets.
  • Experience building predictive models, customer analytics solutions, and forecasting models.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and business-focused manner.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.
