Birmingham City Centre (Hybrid)
£45,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits

KDR Talent Solutions are delighted to be partnering with an innovative Birmingham-based organisation as they continue to invest heavily in data, automation and artificial intelligence capabilities across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist / AI Engineer to join a forward-thinking company that is leveraging AI, machine learning and advanced analytics to drive smarter decision-making, improve operational efficiency and unlock new commercial opportunities.

Working within a highly collaborative environment, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of AI initiatives from concept through to deployment, building solutions that deliver genuine business value.

The Opportunity

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with hands-on engineering capability. You'll be responsible for transforming complex datasets into actionable insights while designing and deploying modern AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications and intelligent automation tools.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working across the full lifecycle of data science and AI projects, from identifying opportunities through to delivering production-ready solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends, insights and opportunities.
  • Design, develop and optimise AI pipelines and machine learning models.
  • Build and deploy Generative AI and LLM-based applications.
  • Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI-powered assistants.
  • Create scalable applications using Python, SQL, APIs and cloud technologies.
  • Develop data products and automation tools that improve business performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support the continuous evolution of the company's AI and data strategy.

What We're Looking For

  • Commercial experience delivering Data Science, Machine Learning or AI solutions.
  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Experience working with SQL and ideally NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Generative AI and RAG frameworks.
  • Experience working within Azure cloud environments.
  • Exposure to Databricks, FastAPI or similar technologies would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Power BI and data visualisation tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset with a passion for innovation.
