The Opportunity
ShareForce is seeking a hands-on Data Scientist to join its growing internal data science capability and work on a portfolio of established predictive models. Working closely with the Data Science Lead, you will play an important role in developing, validating, monitoring, and improving production models. You will work directly with data, Python, SQL, and modelling tools, using analysis and experimentation to improve model performance and deliver measurable business value. Operating within a Microsoft Azure and Databricks environment, this is an opportunity to work across the full model lifecycle while contributing to the development of robust model-management and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve predictive and machine-learning models across the full model lifecycle.
- Work hands-on with Python, SQL, and large datasets to investigate problems, test hypotheses, and develop analytical solutions.
- Monitor production models, investigate changes in performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Undertake exploratory analysis, feature engineering, model development, testing, and validation.
- Evaluate new modelling techniques, AI applications, and external data sources through practical experimentation.
- Support the deployment and ongoing management of models within Azure and Databricks.
- Contribute to effective model documentation, monitoring, explainability, and governance.
- Support the transfer of technical knowledge and model ownership from external specialists into the internal team.
- Collaborate with data, technology, and business teams to ensure models operate effectively in production.
- Translate modelling and analytical findings into clear, practical recommendations for stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
