A fast-growing business is building its data science capability in-house for the first time, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the function from the ground up. This company operates a subscription-service based model, focusing on innovation and data-driven solutions.
The Role
- Own the full data science lifecycle, from defining modelling approaches to building predictive models and creating scalable, production-ready solutions
- Focus initially on customer churn and complaint propensity, forecasting, and other predictive modelling
- Build models, document methodology, and establish the overall data science approach for the business
- Work independently, taking models from concept through to productionisation, ensuring scalability and robustness
- Define how Data Science is implemented within the business rather than inheriting existing frameworks

What You'll Need
- Strong commercial Data Science / Machine Learning experience
- Proven experience building customer churn / propensity models, ideally in subscription-based or service-led businesses
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience taking ML models into production
- Ability to design and document modelling approaches from scratch
- Strong understanding of forecasting and predictive analytics
