Data Solution Architect
Contract: Outside IR35 (subject to determination)
Location: Hybrid
Duration: 3-6 months initially
Our client is looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect to take ownership of enterprise operational data architecture across a complex technology landscape.
This is a hands-on architecture role focused on defining how data is structured, managed and governed across the organisation's core business systems. You'll play a key role in establishing and evolving the enterprise data model, improving data quality and ensuring consistency across multiple operational platforms.
This is not a reporting, BI or analytics architecture role. Instead, the focus is on enterprise data modelling, master data management, operational systems and data lifecycle across the organisation.
Why This Role is Great
This is far more than producing architecture diagrams.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Own and evolve the enterprise data model across multiple operational business systems.
- Define how master data is structured, managed and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
- Improve data quality, consistency and governance across enterprise systems.
- Design practical solutions that enable effective data sharing and integration between business-critical applications.
- Assess existing data landscapes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure architectural designs are successfully delivered into implementation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to influence the organisation's long-term data strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
