Graduate Data Solutions Engineer

Are you a recent graduate, or due to graduate soon, with an interest in data, technology and solving real business problems? We’re looking for curious, motivated and detail-focused Graduate Data Solutions Engineers to join Seriös Group in Summer 2027. This is a varied early-career opportunity where you’ll gain hands-on experience across data engineering, data insights and data testing, as well as our flagship Data & AI Operating System, Seriös ONE. Throughout your time with us you will be supported by experienced colleagues as you build your technical, consulting and commercial skills.

You’ll work on client projects that help organisations design, build, test and understand trusted data solutions. From preparing and analysing data, to building technical solutions, checking quality and communicating findings clearly, you’ll develop a strong understanding of the full data lifecycle and how great data solutions create value.

What you’ll be doing

In your first few weeks, we’ll focus on helping you settle in, build confidence and develop the foundations you need to succeed. You’ll have the opportunity to increase your skills and knowledge across a range of cloud platforms, data tools and ways of working, while also developing important consulting skills such as working effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with clients and understanding how we deliver value through our projects. You’ll also be introduced to our Data & AI Operating System, Seriös ONE, which is our AI-enabled, metadata-driven operating model that significantly improves speed, quality, engineering output and cost efficiency.

As you build your confidence and are ready to take the next step, you’ll be deployed onto one of our live client projects. From there, you’ll begin applying your learning in a real delivery environment, supporting colleagues and clients across different areas of data engineering, data insights and data testing.

Data Engineering

You’ll support the design and build of data solutions by helping to create data models, build warehouse tables, implement pipelines and work with cloud data services such as Azure, AWS and Databricks. You’ll also gain exposure to tools and approaches such as SQL, Python, as well as our Data & AI Operating System, Seriös ONE.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Data Insights

You’ll help turn data into clear, useful insight by supporting analysis, creating reports and dashboards, identifying patterns and trends, and communicating findings in a way that different stakeholders can understand. You’ll develop your confidence in asking good questions, applying business context and using data to support better decisions.

Data Testing

You’ll support the quality and reliability of data solutions by contributing to test plans, designing test cases, writing clear defect reports, carrying out structured testing and learning how automated tests can be integrated into delivery pipelines. You’ll build an understanding of how good testing reduces risk, improves quality and helps deliver trusted outcomes for clients.

Across all areas, you’ll take part in requirements discussions, collaborate with colleagues and clients, document your work clearly and learn how to balance quality, value, effort, cost and timescales.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is excited to learn, enjoys solving problems and wants to build a career in data solutions.

Essentials

  • A degree, equivalent qualification or demonstrable learning in a relevant subject such as data, computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related discipline. 2:1 minimum
  • A foundational understanding of databases, data pipelines, APIs, cloud platforms, data warehousing, analytics or software testing.
  • Practical exposure to SQL and at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python or R, gained through study, personal projects, a placement or employment.
  • An interest in developing across data engineering, data insights and data testing, rather than specialising immediately in only one area.

Desirables

  • It would also be helpful, but not essential, if you have experience from a placement, internship, graduate project, bootcamp or personal portfolio involving data, analytics, software development or testing.
  • Exposure to technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Jira, Azure DevOps, version control, CI/CD, containers or Infrastructure as Code would also be beneficial.

Skills and behaviours we value
