Job Title: Data Standards Adherence Specialist

Location: London

Corporate Title: Vice President

As a Data Standards Adherence Specialist within the Chief Data Office (CDO), you will play a pivotal role in enforcing critical data principles and ensuring compliance across the organization's entire data lifecycle. You will directly drive business integrity by embedding robust data governance and standards into key strategic processes, including new product approvals, key deliverables, and third-party risk management. By leading the review of data considerations into remediation programs and verifying alignment with core data management policies, your dedication will safeguard the bank's regulatory standing and elevate our operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the review of new key deliverables, product launches, and third-party risks assessments to ensure our business and technology departments follow core data management standards
  • Owns the end-to-end remediation framework for identified compliance gaps, directing the tracking, executive reporting, and strategic resolution of issues to ensure sustainable, long-term alignment with Core Data Management Standards
  • Partners influentially with senior cross-functional leaders across business units and Divisional Data Offices, the Second Line of Defence (2LoD), Technology, and the wider CDO to champion data-risk management and drive systemic mitigation strategies
  • Champions the design and implementation of robust data quality controls across divisions, driving continuous process and tool optimization to mature global data governance capabilities
  • Drives the strategic evaluation of new initiative impacts on Data and Records Management policies, delivering executive-level reporting on governance status and proactively advising on policy and procedure evolution

Your skills and experience

  • Proven experience working within a financial services organization is essential, while prior knowledge of Data Management principles is highly beneficial but not required
  • Review & Challenge Experience: Proven ability to independently review and challenge new initiatives, change programs, and product proposals to assess and document data management risks
  • Data Flow & Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of product booking processes and end-to-end, front-to-back data flows, including their impact on risk, finance, and regulatory reporting
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a track record of working collaboratively across business, technology, finance, risk, and compliance teams
  • A background in Data Management is beneficial but not required; experience working within a financial services or highly regulated environment is highly regarded
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
