Data Strategy Consultant – Hedge Funds & Investment Management
London | Hybrid | Senior Consultant / Manager
We are partnering with a leading global strategy consulting firm that is expanding its Data & AI capability across the hedge fund and investment management sector. The team works with some of the world's leading hedge funds, asset managers and financial institutions, helping them use data, technology and quantitative analysis to improve investment decision-making, profitability and operational performance.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Data, Technology and Investment Strategy. You will work directly with hedge funds and investment firms on strategic challenges such as:
- Developing data strategies and operating models for investment businesses
- Using Python and quantitative analysis to solve complex investment and commercial problems
- Analysing large financial, market and portfolio datasets
- Supporting portfolio, investment and trading teams with data-driven insights
- Developing models to assess profitability, performance and capital allocation
- Improving investment platforms, data infrastructure and analytical capabilities
- Applying AI, automation and advanced analytics to investment processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve investment decision-making through better use of data
- Translating complex technical and quantitative analysis into strategic recommendations for senior investment stakeholders
- Working across investment, finance, risk, technology and operations teams

What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in candidates who have a combination of technical data expertise and financial markets/investment experience.

You should have:
- Strong Python skills — ideally including object-oriented programming
- Strong quantitative, analytical or statistical modelling experience
- Experience working with financial or investment data
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment management or hedge funds
- Experience across Data Strategy, Data Science, Data Analytics, Quantitative Analysis or Data Engineering
- An understanding of investment products, portfolios, pricing, risk or performance
- Strong commercial and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders
- Experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, trading firm or financial-services consultancy would be highly relevant
