Data Systems Engineer
At Nexperia Manchester, we are expanding our Quality team with the addition of a Data Systems Engineer. If you are a technically minded problem solver who enjoys using data, software, automation and digitalisation to deliver meaningful operational improvements, we want to hear from you.

Please note this Data Systems Engineer role is located in Manchester with an expectation to be on site. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK to be considered.
What you will do
As a Data Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering data, software, automation and digitalisation solutions that improve the efficiency, productivity and performance of Manchester Quality Labs.
Stakeholder engagement is essential. A key part of the role will be working with lab managers, engineers, technicians and project teams to understand challenges and drive solutions. You will also be expected to bring creative solutions to problems and explore emerging technologies, including AI where appropriate. Additionally, we will expect you to have a real focus on continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies and delivering measurable operational benefits.
Duties will include:
- Analysing data and developing dashboards, reporting, database and analytics solutions
- Writing code and developing software, workflow automation and systems integrations
- Contributing to or leading technical projects from concept through implementation
- Maintaining delivered systems and driving measurable improvements in laboratory productivity, efficiency and performance
- Exploring emerging technologies, including appropriate AI-related applications, to address operational challenges

What you will need
Essential
- Used to developing technical solutions to solve operational or business challenges
- Experience working with data, including analysing, processing or managing information
- Able to write code and develop software, automation, reporting or data solutions
Beneficial
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or another STEM-related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience leading projects or workstreams, influencing stakeholders and driving change
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, C#, Java, VBA or similar
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, version control systems, AI technologies or modern software development practices
- Experience with SQL, databases, dashboard development, reporting tools or analytics platforms
- Experience with workflow automation, APIs, systems integration or automation platforms
- Prior experience working in a laboratory, scientific, engineering, semiconductor or another technology-focused environment
Interview process
- Stage 1: Recruiter Review
- Stage 2: 30‑minute Technical Interview over Teams
- Stage 3: 90‑minute Competency & Behavioural Interview Onsite with site tour
