Job Summary
We are seeking to recruit a motivated and technically curious individual to play a key role in the Trust's strategic transition from a legacy Data Warehouse to a modern NHS Data Platform built on Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies, supporting both operational reporting and statutory data submissions. Reporting to the Technical Information Manager, you will provide technical leadership and specialist expertise to design, build and govern reusable data models that support operational reporting and statutory data submissions across the Trust.
You will work in collaboration with Data Platform, Analysis and Reporting colleagues to shape and deliver the Trust’s vision for a cloud-based data platform. Leveraging your engineering expertise, you will design, develop and support solutions across the Trust’s Data Platform, including data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, data models, deployment processes, and monitoring tools. In partnership with Data Platform, Analysis & Reporting and Commissioning teams, you will help establish modern engineering practices and contribute to the creation of governed data products aligned with NHS standards. Using your expertise in Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric and data engineering principles, you will take a proactive role in driving the design, development and adoption of the platform. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will also build effective working relationships across a wide range of Trust services.
Working within the Data Platform team, you will also support the Trust’s Commissioning function, ensuring the successful delivery of submissions to the Secondary Uses Service (SUS) and other income-critical data flows, helping to safeguard Trust revenue. In return, we can offer you a varied, interesting, and challenging role working as part of a supportive team, with opportunities to develop your skills, learn at pace and build your career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
