About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of our database systems to ensure they operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. You will play a critical role in managing database performance, conducting routine backups and recovery operations, applying upgrades and patches, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases, along with supplementary knowledge of Oracle databases. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to a forward-thinking organization, ensuring our data infrastructure remains robust, secure, and optimized for business needs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management with the following qualifications:
- Advanced skills and extensive experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
- Additional experience or knowledge of Oracle databases is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in database management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, upgrades, and patch management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to database administration.
- Good team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Relevant certifications (such as PostgreSQL Certified Professional, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus but not essential.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems to support organizational operations.
- Monitoring database performance and tuning to optimize efficiency and response times.
- Managing regular backups and recovery processes to safeguard data integrity and availability.
- Applying patches, upgrades, and security enhancements to ensure systems are up-to-date and protected against vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business activities.
- Collaborating with development teams to optimize database architecture and query performance.
- Documenting database configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
