Database Administrator | Platform Engineering | Remote, UK

We’re hiring a Database Administrator to join Tribal’s Platform Engineering team and support the database environments behind our global education software.

This is a hands-on SQL Server DBA role focused on keeping business-critical systems stable, secure, and performing well. You’ll monitor and resolve issues, manage backup and recovery, support upgrades and migrations, and help improve the resilience of our services.

We’re looking for someone reliable, collaborative, and keen to learn. You don’t need to arrive as an Oracle, PostgreSQL, or cloud specialist — the team will support you in developing those areas.

What we’re looking for:

  • Hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in an enterprise production environment
  • Database monitoring, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis
  • Strong backup, recovery, performance tuning, and SQL optimization knowledge
  • Understanding of database security, access governance, and high-availability principles
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working in a globally distributed team

Salary: £53,000–£60,000

Permanent, remote UK role
