About The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining robust database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the full lifecycle of database systems, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, upgrades, patch management, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases, with additional knowledge of Oracle databases being advantageous. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management with the following qualifications:
- Advanced skills and extensive experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
- Additional experience or knowledge of Oracle databases is preferred.
- Proven expertise in database management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, upgrades, and patch management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data integrity and security.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Relevant certifications such as PostgreSQL or Oracle certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator include:
- Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance database systems.
- Monitoring database performance and tuning systems to optimize efficiency.
- Managing database backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Performing routine upgrades, patches, and updates to maintain system security and functionality.
- Identifying and troubleshooting database issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborating with development teams to optimize database schema and queries.
- Documenting database configurations, procedures, and policies for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Ensuring adherence to security protocols and data privacy standards.
