About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of database systems to ensure they operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. This pivotal role involves managing database performance, implementing backup and recovery procedures, applying upgrades and patches, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, particularly with PostgreSQL databases, and have the ability to optimize database environments to support business needs effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, contributing to the stability and performance of critical data infrastructure.

Qualifications
- Proven track record in database management
- Advanced skills in PostgreSQL
- Additional experience or knowledge of Oracle databases
- Relevant certifications related to database administration are advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and optimize queries to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and security updates to ensure systems are current and protected against vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application integration and data management needs.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and policies for internal records and audits.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices to continuously improve systems.
