About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team at Logistex. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database environments, primarily focusing on Postgres and Oracle databases. Your expertise will ensure that our data systems operate at peak performance, remain secure, and support the company’s operational and strategic objectives. You will work closely with software development, DevOps, and security teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database performance. Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of database management and optimization
- Comprehensive knowledge of Postgres and Oracle database systems, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security best practices
- Solid understanding of backup and recovery procedures, database upgrades, and patch management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication skills
- Relevant certifications and background in supporting CI/CD and DevOps initiatives considered advantageous
Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize Postgres and Oracle databases to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Perform routine upgrades, patches, backups, and recovery testing to maintain database integrity and resilience.
- Monitor database performance metrics and troubleshoot issues proactively to prevent downtime and ensure optimal operation.
- Implement and enforce database security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment strategies.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives to meet evolving business needs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders on database-related issues.
