About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of our database systems. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all database environments operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support the organization’s operational and strategic objectives. This position involves managing database performance, conducting routine backups and recovery procedures, applying upgrades and patches, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, particularly with PostgreSQL databases, and have experience with Oracle databases as an added advantage. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining high levels of security and compliance across all database systems.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Advanced skills and extensive experience working with PostgreSQL databases
  • Additional knowledge or experience with Oracle databases
  • Proven expertise in database management, performance tuning, backup and recovery processes, and patch management
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and system reliability
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Relevant certifications in database management or related fields are a plus but are not mandatory

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Designing and implementing robust database systems aligned with organizational needs
  • Monitoring and optimizing database performance through tuning and indexing strategies
  • Managing routine backups, recovery procedures, and ensuring data integrity and security
  • Applying software upgrades, patches, and updates to maintain system health and security compliance
  • Identifying and resolving database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Collaborating with development teams to support application integration and data workflows
  • Documenting database configurations, procedures, and best practices for future reference
  • Staying updated on the latest database technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements
